Overview

This page contains downloads and information for the Delta-style General Purpose English List, made as an UTAU English recording list for Japanese people.

Unlike Japanese, which has CV, rentan, CVVC, VCV, etc. an English voicebank must be CVVC.

Although Japanese CVVC is much smaller than Japanese VCV, English CVVC can be up to 10 times larger than Japanese VCV, which is impractical.

Given that, these 8 versions range from the most unlimited no-compromises list to the most limited and condensed list.

List Principles

Each list’s properties and recording amount comparison are in the following table:

Number Similarly sized Japanese reclist Recording time Notes
0 full VCV with CCV, etc. 10 hours Theoretical list, not practical
1 VCV 6 hours
2 mimirobo-style VCV 3 hours Recommended
3 Mixed VCV and CVVC 2 hours 30 minutes
4 eve-style CVVC 2 hours
5 Delta-style/Tsubasa-style CVVC 1 hour 30 minutes Recommended
6 CV 1 hour 30 minutes Smallest
7 CV 1 hour Smallest, quick to record, for advanced users

Note: “Similarly sized Japanese reclist” is only an example. Every version of the list is actually CVVC.
Note: If you take into account the amount of time you spend rerecording samples, version 5’s length is the closest to Japanese VCV.
